About the Workshop
The workshop will be taught in English, with examples and use cases drawn from both classical and contemporary Sinitic materials.

We write to announce a Workshop on AI Agents for Sinitic Texts, to be held at Harvard May 18–21, 2026. We see this as necessary training for all of us in the East Asian studies in our roles as scholars and as teachers. At the very least the workshop should enable participants to stay abreast of the extraordinary pace of developments in Generative AI. Dr. Kwok-leong Tang, Managing Director of the Digital China Initiative, will lead the workshop with a group of tutors. The workshop will cover the latest applications of LLMs and AI-driven workflows that can support and automate multi-step research tasks.
